of our team and each and every tradesman must comply with our Tradesman Service Standards.
Our national coverage has over 1,500 tradesmen available 24 hours a day 365 days a year

Each and every tradesman will comply with the following:-
Tradesman Service Standards
- The tradesman shall extend to the customer a polite and courteous service at all times.
- The tradesman shall at all times operate to the Service Standards as laid down to them.
- The tradesman shall provide Domestic SOS with a priority service for all emergency
situations.
- In normal emergency conditions, the tradesman shall contact the customer within 30
minutes of notification to arrange access. The tradesman’s time of arrival shall be within
2 hours of the customers call, 3 hours in rural areas.
- The tradesman shall report all problems/complaints to Domestic SOS within 24 hours of
occurrence.
- All work carried out, goods manufactured or produced, is to be carried out in a good
substantial workmanlike manner by skilled employees and supervisors to BSI and BBA Standards,
or an equivalent European Standard and/or relevant Codes of Practice.
- All gas and electrical installation work must be in accordance with the Standards laid
down by the Confederation Of Registered Gas Installers (CORGI) or the National Inspection
Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) or an equivalent European Standard
as appropriate and that such work will be covered by guarantees issued by these bodies.
- All tradesmen must understand that Domestic SOS's authorised representatives will report
incidents of unsatisfactory performance and/or non-compliance with contract conditions.
Domestic SOS reserves the right to cancel or suspend contracts, withdraw offers of work,
or take any other action that may be deemed appropriate.
Health and Safety
- All tradesmen must comply with the carrying out and completion of risk assessments in
respect of COSHH, Noise, Electricity and Six Pack (EC legislation).
- Copies of such risk assessments must be kept and full and free access to the information
must be made available to Domestic SOS.
- Domestic SOS is fully committed to its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work
Act 1974, subsequent and related legislation and future enactments. It expects all Tradesmen
to be equally committed.
- It is necessary for all tradesmen to demonstrate not only their commitment but also their
actual arrangements to ensure a satisfactory standard of Health and Safety for their employees,
non-employees and members of the public.
- The need for commitment applies equally to sub-contractors and they should be aware that
it is their responsibility to ensure that they comply.
- Tradesmen will be expected to demonstrate the necessary understanding of the Health and
Safety aspects of the work they are to do for
Domestic SOS and have the resources to solve
problems as they arise.
- There will be officers who routinely monitor tradesmen work, including the standard of
Health and Safety.
